The building was expanded in part, has undergone a major restructuring in order to adapt it to modern living standards and comfort. In particular, it was taken care of the energy aspect, redeveloping the old structure of brick bearing masonry, with a thermal coat thickness 12 cm, while the roof of each building component that is extremely sensitive, has been protected by an insulating layer thickness of about 20 cm. The wooden porch on the south side, provides protection to the winter weather and passive shading in summer, in order to reduce exposure to solar radiation and consequent internal overheating in warmer weather. New wooden fixtures with high efficiency heat and sound, complete the picture of efficiency of the building. Further attention has been devoted to the envelope of renewable energy sources, such as a photovoltaic system integrated in the cover and an adequate number of solar panels for the production of hot water.
Overall, it was decided to transform a building originally energivorous, a new architectural structure with low environmental impact, capable of producing on-site most of the energy it consumes, with the environment and benefit the entire community and cuffed immediately perceptible by users in terms of comfort and living conditions.
In the Spring of 2012 will complete the work of the new Ponterosa.
The rainwater collection and drainage will be incorporated into an underground tank that will supply water for the garden and the garden.
A renovated swimming pool with a water purification plant with sea salt, will provide guests one more reason to stay in a natural relaxation.
